Featured Workshop: Yoga for Osteoporosis and Osteopenia
A Weekend with Gernot Huber
Learn Dr. Loren Fishman’s evidence-based yoga method for osteoporosis and osteopenia with certified instructor Gernot Huber. This two-session workshop focuses on improving bone mineral density, posture, balance, coordination, and safer movement patterns to help reduce the risk of falls and fractures. You’ll learn both morning and evening yoga sequences, with Session 2 building on the foundation established in Session 1. No prior yoga experience is required. Particpants must have attended Session 1 in order to participate in Session 2.
Functional fitness prepares your body for the movements and demands of everyday life, helping you move with greater ease, strength, and confidence. In this workshop, explore seven key functional movements and learn how to incorporate them creatively into your yoga practice. Options will include gentle, moderate, and more vigorous variations, with and without hand weights and resistance bands. Some yoga experience is suggested. Room temperature is 72 degrees for comfort.
Restorative yoga invites you to slow down, release tension, and create greater ease in the body. With a special focus on the spine, this workshop uses long, supported holds to soften muscles and connective tissues, ease stiffness, and encourage deep rest. Amir’s gentle, therapeutic approach helps build body awareness, support balance and recovery, and reduce the effects of stress. Open to everyone, regardless of yoga experience or fitness level.
As summer begins to fade, school gets into session, and schedules become busier, there's no better time to take a moment to pause, ground, and remind ourselves that we can choose to take it slow on purpose as we honor body and mind. This meditative experience features gongs sized over forty inches, complimented by accent gongs and Tibetan sound bowls to accentuate a sense of being grounded and peaceful.
Learn to use a foam roller in a practice that provides challenge and relaxation in a safe environment. Reduce the stress of tight muscles and constricted connective tissue, improve circulation, and enjoy accessible self-massage. We will incorporate the moves into a slow, all-levels hatha yoga class and end with restorative poses, to reinvigorate the body.

Menopause is a turning point that can call for a new approach to your yoga practice. Designed for anyone in peri-, active, or post-menopause, this workshop explores emerging menopause science, self-empathy, ways to refocus your asana practice, and the importance of deep rest and restorative practices. Come as you are, adapt your practice to the body you are in now, and connect with others navigating the same terrain alongside you.
Build on the foundations of Vinyasa 101 in this supportive workshop designed to deepen confidence and understanding. After a brief review of Sun Salutations A and B, we’ll focus on standing postures, folds, balance, backbends, and the closing series. Explore how breath and movement connect, refine common transitions, and discover options that support your body. Ideal for students with some familiarity with vinyasa who want to strengthen their practice overall.
Our feet serve as the cornerstone of our daily movements, bearing the weight of our bodies and facilitating motion. Unfortunately, many of us face challenges with foot health, stemming from issues like bio-mechanical imbalances, excess weight, or the prolonged use of improper footwear. Amir's yoga therapeutics can make a significant impact by addressing limitations and promoting alignment, flexibility, and strength in the feet.
Amir will teach you how to create a customized routine to address your specific low back dysfunctions and related pains. He'll review the anatomy of the lower back and sacroiliac joint, as well as common misalignments, muscles spasms, compression, and disc issues. Using yoga therapeutics, as well as techniques from Egoscue, Somatics, and Thai Yoga Massage, Amir will offer tools to self-evaluate and find ease from both chronic and acute conditions.
Ahmed will begin with a guided meditation accompanied by music from Surge.DJ, then move into an all-levels vinyasa flow guided by breath and a live DJ soundscape. You’ll move with the music, not just to it, building energy as you flow and softening as you breathe. Expect to sweat, breathe deeply, and leave feeling clear, grounded, energized, and completely reset. All bodies welcome.
