The typical yoga class seldom attends to the ankle joint. Its life alongside the feet, knees and hips cause it to fall into the shadows. In the School of Body Mind Centering (BMC) the ankle is related to the ovaries and vas deferens and are key supports in buoyancy, lightness, and a felt sense of juiciness throughout the whole body. Working with the ankles can bring more ease and freedom to the knees as well as the feet and hips. In this class we'll look at the functions of and work with the ankles directly – feeding the work and awareness there into the balance of freedom and integrity of the whole body. May we all step softly on this earth and find peace in each step we take!
