One of the most replicated findings in positive psychology and the science of happiness is our primal need for social connection. Healthy relationships strengthen our immune system, increase life satisfaction and decreases anxiety and depression. In short, we need each other. And yet in today’s technology-dependent, fast-paced and grind culture, we seem to be heading in the opposite direction.
This workshop will explore three levels of connection - with ourselves, our community, and ‘others' - through movement, meditation and interactive exercises. Armed with practical ways to cultivate social connection in their lives, participants may leave feeling open and ready to show up for themselves and others.
Topics are based on “The Science of Happiness” course at Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, and will include:
