We are days away from the culmination of a presidential election that is likely the most historic of the century. Much like the uncertainty of our lives for the last seven months, we face the real possibility of going to sleep the evening of Nov. 3 with more questions than answers. It’s unsettling at best, and the emotional litany goes on from there.
What’s a yogi to do?
BREATHE, dear friends, BREATHE.
Of course, do other things too: vote, make phone calls, campaign for your causes and those who champion them. Connect with friends and family, and don’t shy away from measured, compassionate, and honest conversations about what matters most to your heart. Pace your news consumption as you stay aware of developments. Eat well, sleep well, move your body in healthy ways. These are all real-life expressions of a yoga practice grounded in present-moment embrace.
If there ever was a week to devote ourselves to practice....well, here we are: ready to breathe with you, ready to sit grounded and stand tall, our hearts open and strong, with a readiness to tap into deep wisdom so we may gracefully face whatever comes.
