In a humorous moment from the hit PBS series "Downton Abbey," the Dowager Countess, played by the incomparable Dame Maggie Smith, betrays the out-of-touch attitude of the aristocracy by asking a mere middle class working mortal, "what's a weekend?"
Our times bear reconsideration of that question: Many folks working from home have blurred the lines between work time and down time; first responders and healthcare workers are needed no matter the calendar; teachers spend many evenings and weekends planning lessons or grading assignments; parents are on duty 24-7. While setting aside Saturdays and Sundays for pure relaxation is still the ideal for many, what seems more common is a daily jumbled program of work, ease, socializing, exercise, and self-care.
We love throwing yoga into that mix because it checks so many boxes, and offers a touch of weekend vibes no matter what day it is!
We hope you'll join us this fall for yoga, meditation, contemplative practices, and workshops, to feed your mind/body/community/spirit, any day of the week.
