Kundalini Yoga 101 with Livdhyan Kaur Khalsa

  • Sun & Moon Yoga in Fairfax 3975 University Drive Fairfax, VA, 22030 United States (map)

This workshop will take place in-person in the Fairfax Studio and on Zoom, with a recording available for one month following.

Wondering what's different about Kundalini Yoga? The answer is, lots!

Kundalini Yoga is done in sequences of postures called kriyas, often integrated with breath, eye focus, mudra, sacred sound, and movement. The word kriya means completed action, not just in the sense of needing to do the dishes and having washed and dried them, but in the sense of a seed that comes to full bloom – a desire become commitment having become real. Each kriya (of more than 8,000) manifests a particular, predictable, and stable state on multiple levels - physical/mental/emotional/spiritual with a defined purpose, and this is why Kundalini Yoga can give you such a powerful experience of your Self.

In this workshop with Livdhyan, you will get a thorough introduction to this more esoteric style of practice, with explanations of why we do things so differently and why it is so powerful. The format will be a full class with added background at each step, and time for Q&A at the end to help you process and understand.

You can expect to experience:

- tuning-in to open a sacred space
- pranayama
- a kriya or set of Kundalini Yoga exercises suitable for beginners
- deep relaxation
- longer meditation practice
- closing sacred space the Kundalini way

All followed by a rich Q&A discussion to address your experiences and queries!
