This workshop will take place in-person only in the Arlington Studio.
"Life without tapas is like a heart without love"
~ BKS Iyengar
In Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, a foundational text on classical yoga, he lists tapas as one of the niyamas, or personal observances. The word tapas comes from ‘tap’ in Sanskrit which means to blaze or burn. It is a burning, self-disciplined effort to purify the body and mind. Through intense effort, we can let go of obstacles and make way for compassion and forgiveness. Each session of this this special weekend workshop with Iyengar Yoga teacher Lori Ritland will incorporate aspects of tapas, and students will come away inspired and energized.
This weekend workshop is for those who have had some Iyengar Yoga experience.
