The challenges of connecting across polarizing differences can shut us down and when we stop engaging, we stop learning. Rather than avoiding contentious conversations, we need different ways of interacting that help us listen to ourselves as well as others. In this course we will explore ways to use our whole selves to generate authentic, respectful and learning-full dialogue that unites rather than divides. Each meeting of this 6 week course features a particular practice with an application to a current controversial issue and offers an opportunity to share real world successes and challenges in a learning community .
