Who was your favorite teacher as a kid? This is a question we pose to our teachers-in-training each year. It inevitably generates a wonderful conversation with poignant memories of moments when we felt most inspired, most affirmed, and most encouraged. Any classroom setting – from Algebra to Literature to Yoga – comes alive when the teacher lends experience, passion, and creativity to the topic, and then makes space for the students to fill in their own. The result in the yoga rooms at Sun & Moon is a community of explorers, breathers, embodiers, and embracers of life, of self, of spirit. Be in the room (or the Zoom) where it happens!
Experience
Many of our teachers have been teaching for decades. Try out Enid Kassner (Tuesdays @5p hybrid) and Gayle Fleming (Thursdays @5p and Sundays @10a in-studio) for time's gift of wisdom and experience.
Passion
Dena Jensen's passion is palpable, pure joy, and you can feel it every single weekend (Saturdays @10a on Zoom). During the week, a teacher's bound to be passionate to get up and teach early morning classes. Suzanne Romness does just that three days in a row (Tuesdays on Zoom, Wednesdays hybrid, Thursday on Zoom, all @6:30a).
Creativity
Working with the energy body involves a mind that perceives more than the immediate senses can see, and a creative class with a gifted teacher can help make that vision come alive, like Tai Chi with Cynthia Maltenfort (Mondays @11a on Zoom) and Bones & Balance with Carole Toulousy-Michel (Tuesdays @3p in-studio and Thursdays @11a on Zoom).
