This workshop will take place in the Fairfax Studio in-person only
In light of the chaos and “dis - ease” in our nation's sociopolitical climate, how can we use our yoga to cope? Yoga is more than a physical practice. It is a practice that affords us an opportunity to find calm, stress relief, strength, joy and the ability to find our voice in the midst of the chaos and the challenges of our daily lives.
This workshop will use the Eight Limbs of Yoga to help find the freedom to release the frustration of these challenging times in a safe, restorative environment through a practice using asanas, meditation, conversation and restorative justice practices.
Facilitator Michelle Chapman-Campbell, Doctor of Ministry, is a certified and experienced chaplain, counselor, holistic life coach, restorative justice facilitator, and yoga instructor. Her collective professional and vocational experience is a culmination of 20+ years of holding safe spaces for individuals and communities to engage in restorative conversations.
Be prepared to challenge your body, to listen to others, to engage in difficult conversations, to release and or discover your authentic voice, to use the benefits of a regular yoga practice to manage the chaos and challenges of daily life. This practice is for the novice and the seasoned yoga enthusiast. The goal is not to do all the things but to move in the direction that your body and or personhood needs to grow. Everyone is welcome... we will make the modifications we need along the journey, individually and collectively.
The two hours will be spend as follows:
15 minutes Opening Circle and Grounding Breath (Introduction)
40 minute Asana Practice (Building Resilience in the Body)
40 minutes Restorative Justice Circle (Facilitated Conversation)
