Dr. Lauren Fishman, a physiatrist at Columbia University who specializes in rehabilitative medicine, has spent years gathering data on yoga and bone health. From 2005-2015 he conducted an experiment to support his theory that yoga, when practiced regularly, would have positive benefits for bone density. He developed a practice for participants of 12 poses that could be done in 12 minutes. Over 700 people volunteered to participate in Dr. Fishman's study. At the beginning and end of the ten year period, all participants had their bone density measured. Those who practiced regularly over the ten year period had measured improvement in bone density. Come learn about Dr. Fishman's work and the 12 poses that can be easily incorporated into a short home practice.
