LEARN, DO, BECOME

LEARN

  • Learn the history, philosophy, anatomy, physiology, and teaching/practice methodologies of yoga over the course of ten monthly, 12-hour weekend immersions attended live and in-person with senior Sun & Moon faculty.*

  • Reading assignments include several sacred yogic texts, modern interpretations, and occasional articles or podcasts for discussion.

DO

  • Attend one class per week with your choice of Sun & Moon teacher for the fall, winter, and spring quarters.

  • Observe a second class per week with a different teacher for the fall and winter quarters.

  • Commit to personal home practice for the duration of the program.

  • Give and receive real-time feedback on practice teaching and asana technique.

  • Participate in elective workshops throughout the program year.

  • Teach one free, community class with the theme of your choice.

  • Complete a comprehensive, written, take-home exam.

BECOME

  • Celebrate the deep and joyful cohort bond you will create with your YTT family.

  • Develop the qualities of mindfulness and intentionality in your practice as a student, teacher, and community leader.

  • Discover an awareness of your innate and unique gifts as a human being.

*In-person attendance at the weekend immersions is a priority. If a significant scheduling conflict or illness prevents live attendance, sessions may be live-streamed and recorded on Zoom, for a maximum of two missed weekends. Any more than two missed weekend will need to be made up the following program year at a pro-rated cost.

I chose Sun & Moon’s teacher training for several reasons. I like that Sun and Moon is a small, local business in the area for 25 years. That’s a huge accomplishment. Looking through the bios on the website of the teachers involved in the training, all have 15+ years teaching experience. I like the feel of the studio... classes don’t feel competitive like I’ve experienced in some studios, and it’s a learning environment.

I’m beyond grateful to have had such a rich and life changing experience with you and the many generous and skilled teachers at Sun & Moon. It is because of this wonderful and loving community that I have found true joy.
